About the Dos Rios Arts & Cultural District

The Dos Rios Arts & Cultural District is a vibrant, community-centered cultural destination rooted in the agricultural richness and the creative spirit of those in Stanislaus County. Named for the confluence of the Tuolumne and Stanislaus Rivers, the district reflects a long tradition of cultivation of land, people, and ideas. Located in the heart of Modesto, the district brings together established cultural institutions, grassroots artist collectives, historic landmarks, small businesses, and public spaces into a connected and intentional arts ecosystem. Anchored by the Stanislaus Arts Council and strengthened through partnerships with the City of Modesto, Visit Modesto, and downtown stakeholders, the district celebrates the region’s vibrant diversity while fostering creativity, belonging, and civic pride. The district’s assets include theaters, galleries, museums, performance venues, public art, festivals, and artist-led initiatives that activate streets, plazas, and storefronts year-round. Equally important are its intangible assets: local artists, cultural traditions, community stories, and a shared commitment to community, collaboration, equity, and access.

District Region: Modesto - Stanislaus County
